CounterEcho SMS & Text Message Policy
1. Consent is required, always
- We only send text (SMS) messages to a number with that person's prior express consent, consistent with the U.S. Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) and applicable rules.
- On the feedback form, consent is an explicit checkbox that is never pre-checked. Providing a phone number alone is not consent to be texted.
2. What messages may be sent
- Service messages about feedback the person submitted (for example, a manager following up on a low rating) — only to numbers where the person opted in.
- Business-owner alert messages go only to a phone number the business itself provided and opted in for alerts.
3. Opting out
- Reply STOP to any message to opt out of future texts; we honor opt-outs and stop sending to that number.
- Message and data rates may apply.
4. Provider
- Text messages are delivered through Twilio, a third-party messaging provider. Our SMS features only become active after applicable industry registrations are complete; until then no outbound texts are sent.

*In plain language: we never text anyone without their OK, the box is never pre-ticked, and anyone can stop messages anytime by replying STOP.*
